The Project:

Applied Materials is the largest supplier of products and services to the global semiconductor industry and have over 90 locations worldwide.

Since 2000 The Netkitchen has been consulting for Applied Materials on the conversion of off-line procedures to intranet and client facing extranet applications. During this period The Netkitchen has provided a wide range of services as the project evolved.

The Results:

• Portal Demos: Initially The Netkitchen worked closely with key AMAT managers to develop a Customer Portal demonstration site to present to senior management during a company wide conference. Going beyond typical PowerPoint presentations, the demo was the talk of the conference and an enormous internal success. This led to the creation of the Employee Portal Demo which has become the roadmap to the development of several online applications.
• Extranet Templates: Working with technology partners, The Netkitchen designed custom templates for AMAT extranets to enable customers to place equipment orders, track order processing, and created detailed reports.
• Intranet Development: The Netkitchen consults with key AMAT managers, internal developers, and external back-end contractors to design intranet application templates. Using the Employee Portal Demo as a roadmap, multiple complex workflows have been converted to online applications.
• Flash Tutorials: Custom developed Flash tutorials educate AMAT employees and key customers, increasing adoption rates and site usage.
