The Project:
BP, the worlds third largest natural resource company, rebranded to establish a consistent and comprehensive brand presence. The Netkitchen led the online rebrand for BP Chemicals during the evolving BP rebranding process. To date, we have rebranded over twenty BP Chemicals web sites over the past two years.
The Results:
- A re-branding strategy promotes BP's new global brand while still supporting their multiple international sub-brands.
- Security around the initial sites rebranded was critical. The Netkitchen enacted extra security measures both for office and data storage/transfer protocol.
- Using the BP Styleguide, The Netkitchen developed specific templates that were used by all Chemicals business units to promote a consistent look and reduce overall costs.
- Initial sites were developed using Interwoven Teamsite per the BP global directive. When BP moved away from Interwoven, The Netkitchen updated the existing sites and trained the Chemicals division to use Microsoft FrontPage2000, dramatically reducing maintenance costs.
- Several sites featured interactive databases. The Netkitchen was able to update database templates with no loss of functionality.
- In addition to rebranding BP Chemicals e-commerce site, ChemicalsChoice, The Netkitchen also created several Flash tutorials for sales and training purposes. The demos were created with a modular approach so they could be easily rebranded, and translated in multiple languages.
